Honda launches the All-New Mobilio

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) launched the All-New Mobilio, its first 7-seater Multi-purpose Utility Vehicle (MUV).

Honda developed the All-New Mobilio as a response to the needs and desires of people looking for the one affordable vehicle that can take them and their loved ones to places. The engineers who worked on the All-New Mobilio kept in mind their ultimate goal – to surpass what other MUVs have offered in the market to be able to showcase Honda’s true value in the segment. With the needs and desires of the customers and Honda’s differentiation in mind, the development team harmonized all these and came up with a sporty and highly competitive package for Honda’s MUV.

The All-New Mobilio design was based on the “Progressive Private Jetliner” concept which offers modern and young styling, advanced technology, superbly spacious cabin, flexible seats and comfortable sedan-like ride that feels like sitting in a private jet.

With the All-New Mobilio, Honda reintroduces one of its sporty grades, RS. RS is Honda’s sporty grade for everyday sport as it balances day-to-day utility with sportiness. The All-New Mobilio RS flaunts seven exclusively-designed exterior parts namely front grille, front bumper, 15” alloy wheels, side sill garnish, tailgate spoiler, rear bumper with exhaust pipe finisher, and the RS emblem. With the RS design, a sportier and sophisticated character is presented in Honda’s first Multi-purpose Utility Vehicle.

Under the hood is Honda’s 1.5 liter i-VTEC engine that delivers maximum power output of 120 ps at 6600 rpm and 145 NM of torque at 4600 rpm. The 1.5 liter i-VTEC engine is mated to either 5-speed Manual Transmission or the new Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) developed under the Earth Dreams Technology to keep the balance between power and fuel efficiency.

The All-New Mobilio RS is equipped with a 7-inch touch screen audio unit with built-in navigation system powered by Garmin. The audio unit includes easy to operate features such as Emergency Hotline Button for sudden roadside needs, Bluetooth audio and hands-free telephone (HFT), CD/DVD drive, as well as USB and AUX ports. Meanwhile, an advanced 2-DIN audio unit with Bluetooth audio and hands-free telephone (HFT), CD, USB and AUX ports is available for the V variant.

Along with the exceptional features and comfort that the All-New Mobilio offers, Honda equipped its first MUV with safety features to provide peace of mind to all its occupants. Honda gathers over 100 All New Odyssey reservations

With just over a week since launched, Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI), received over 100 All New Odyssey reservations which retails at an introductory price of P2,298,000 and comes with free Modulo accessories until March 31 only.

The All New Odyssey is Honda’s offering for customers looking for a seven-seater luxury minivan that showcases the perfect balance of utility and passenger car values.  The All New Odyssey’s utility characteristics suggest spacious cabin and flexible seating; while passenger vehicle characteristics evoke driving performance and fuel efficiency;

To achieve this, HCPI equipped the All New Odyssey with features that has never been offered in any of the Honda vehicles locally available:

Captain Cradle Seats which are especially designed for the second row passengers features different seat structures to provide ultimate comfort. The cradle structure simultaneously raises the seat cushion to the optimal angle when the passenger reclines the seatback. The bendable seatback structure enables the passenger to adjust the angle of the upper half of the seatback independently. And lastly, an ottoman is added for leg support and a more relaxing posture. These seats can be moved backwards by 740mm to exude a limousine-like space or sideways to create a private space for each occupant.

Multi-view Camera System supports safe driving by significantly improving visibility around the vehicle through images generated from four wide angle cameras located on the front grille, right and left door mirrors and the tailgate. Synthesized images are shown on the touch screen display audio with navigation. Different images can be displayed depending on the situation such as driving through an intersection with poor visibility, parking the car or driving through a narrow street.

Smart Parking Assist System helps the driver to park with automatic steering input using the Electric Power Steering (EPS) motor. This is based on automatic detection of the parking space by analyzing the images framed by the Multi-view Camera System. The system supports backing into the parking space and parallel parking even in a tight spot where multiple steering operations are required.

Rear Entertainment System is a 9-inch LCD monitor which can convert the rear cabin into a private entertainment space. Back seat passengers can enjoy watching DVD and other multimedia contents via the HDMI external video input.

Earth Dreams Technology is a next generation set of technological advancements that enhances the engine to greatly improve both fuel efficiency and driving performance. The All New Odyssey is the first Honda model available in the Philippines that is developed with Earth Dreams Technology 2.4-liter, DOHC i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine and Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT with 7-speed paddle shifter).

No other than HCPI’s President and General Manager, Toshio Kuwahara unveiled and spoke with optimism about the All New Odyssey in a press conference last March 3. “We are overwhelmed to hear about the very positive response from our customers especially in this category. We are working closely with our dealerships to be able to supply the orders we have taken over the week. We plan to continue to introduce new products that suit the demands and needs of the Filipino customers”, said Kuwahara in a press statement.

Using the HDMI port allows users to connect and mirror their smartphone on the touch screen display audio while the vehicle is in full stop.

Multi-functional steering controls are standard in select variants of the 2015 Civic; this lets the driver operate the Civic’s intelligent Multi Information Display (i-MID) which shows information such as the fuel consumption and other vehicle settings. With your hands steady on the steering wheel, experience the thrill of more spirited driving at your fingertips with the Civic’s race-inspired and fun-to-use paddle shift technology that delivers the superb driving pleasure of a manual transmission. The Brio (Italian for “energetic” and “cheerful”) series, was especially created for the emerging demands of the Asian market – automobiles that will facilitate personal mobility. The Brio model’s development is backed by Honda’s extensive experience in creating compact cars such as the Jazz and City which are examples of the application of Honda’s “man maximum, machine minimum” design concept. While relatively the most affordable car in Honda’s vehicle line-up, the Brio models proudly embody high levels of Honda DQR – durability, quality and reliability.

“These cars were specifically developed to match the evolving needs of our customers,” Kuwahara said at the launch event. “Today, we are revealing Honda’s answer to the small car for Filipino motorists. We are joining the small car segment in a big way by setting a new standard with these two vehicles.”

In numbers the Brio is the smallest vehicle in Honda’s line-up, measuring at 3,610mm (length), 1,680mm (width) and 1,485mm (height) with 2,345mm wheelbase, while the Brio Amaze is longer than its hatchback version measuring at 3,990mm (length) with 2,405mm wheelbase. Given these figures, the Brio Amaze enjoys a roomier interior and a larger trunk capacity of 400 liters.

Both the Brio and Brio Amaze will be available with a 4-cylinder, 1.3-liter i-VTEC engine, that delivers a maximum power output of 100 ps at 6000 rpm, making it the most powerful in the mini compact segment. This engine is mated with either first-in-class 5-speed automatic transmission and 5-speed manual transmission and which helps realize better fuel efficiency. With their compact size and powerful engine, both the Brio and Brio Amaze provide comfortable mobility in a wide variety of driving situations – from start up acceleration, to hill climbs and twists.
