Bump Technologies, Inc, the company behind the popular wireless sharing app Bump, has already been acquired by Google for an undisclosed amount.
For the unacquainted, Bump is a very popular app, especially for the iPhone, that lets users easily transfer files to each other by physically bumping phones together.
In a company blog post, Bump CEO and cofounder David Lieb wrote that the Bump team is joining Google. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to join Google, a company that shares our belief that the application of computing to difficult problems can fundamentally change the way that we interact with one another and the world.” said Lieb.
Google’s acquisition of the company will put not one but two services in its arsenal, namely Bump and photo and album-sharing app Flock. For now, these two apps will continue to work as they always have.
As for the amount that elgoog coughed up for Bump, sources say that it is close to $35 million.
