Tekken 7 has a secret Filipina character?

Although the Jollibee character rumored to make it on Tekken 7 isn’t likely to come true, a new character from Bandai Namco Games’s latest fighting game is reported to possibly be a Filipina.

Gamers from Korea with very keen eyes spotted this new character data along with others and leaked them online. One of the readers then pointed out that what she was wearing along with her necklace, seems to be taking its design cues from out national flag. Check out the full costume.

If you’d think about it, it does resemble our Philippine flag in more ways than one. The necklace, in addition to its yellow top and blue skirt with red slit, does make it seem like she’s wearing the national flag vertically.

We’ve reported before that Tekken’s game director and chief producer Katsuhiro Harada has mentioned that he will be considering a Filipino character, and if ever this does push through it won’t be the first time that they will be incorporating our culture into their game.

10 Addicting FB/Smartphone Games We No Longer Play

There were a lot of games in the past that we’ve casually installed with the purpose of just passing time. We played the game for a few minutes, which turned into hours and realized that we’re hooked with it. In this article we look back at those games that pretty much took a small chunk of our lives playing them. Here are 10 addicting Facebook/smartphone games we no longer play.

The games listed below are arranged in no particular order.

Plants Vs Zombies

Kicking off the list is the iconic Plants vs Zombies. This game gave a twist to the usual tower defense games and got players hooked with its vibrant graphics, interesting gameplay, and lovable characters.

Candy Crush Saga

Candy-Crush-Saga

Candy Crush Saga was released back in 2012 and immediately gained popularity thanks to its simplistic gameplay. It was first available for Facebook only, but became accessible to smartphones through an app after a few months.

4 Pics 1 Word

Needed something to tease your brain? This was what 4 Pics 1 Word was all about. It was a word puzzle game commonly seen on our Facebook news feeds, with friends asking for help in solving for the words.

Fruit Ninja

If you’ve seen a kid holding a tablet and swiping the screen furiously like there was no tomorrow, then that kid was most likely playing Fruit Ninja. It was definitely an addictive game that tests your hand-eye coordination. Plus we personally believed we were some sort of a ninja with intense skills of cutting fruits. Fun!

Temple Run

Sliding, jumping, and running away from what looks like large mutated monkeys — what’s not to like about Temple Run? We remember riding a commuter van with about half the people inside playing this game.

Logo Quiz

How well do you know your logos? Some were easy but some required a little bit of remembering where you’ve seen it before. And if things got really hard, there was always the Internet to search for “Logo Quiz answers for all levels”.

Robot Unicorn Attack

This was one of the games that got people hooked not just because of its gameplay, but because of the background song that played during the game. It featured “Always” by Erasure that just added the magic it needed to make people play it non-stop!

Bejeweled

Another puzzle game was Bejeweled which required players to match the tiles according to their shapes and colors. It was initially released way back in 2001 and was widely-available for different platforms — making it playable by almost everyone.

Angry Birds

Angry-Birds

Who knew throwing chickens at pigs could be so much fun? Rovio’s Angry Birds was so popular that it came out with different versions (Rio, Go, Space, Star Wars, Transformers, and more).

Flappy Bird

Last but definitely not the least, Flappy Bird. This controversial game was so hot that its creator, Dong Nguyen, took it down during its peak for the reasons that it was too “addictive” and “it has become a problem”. So if there’s a game that both received negative and positive comments, Flappy Bird easily comes to mind.

Those are some of the addicting games that we no longer play. Got something that you want to share?

Play This: WWE Immortals for iOS and Android

If you’re looking for a fresh new game to try on your smartphone, check WWE Immortals out! WWE gets some Mortal Kombat treatment and turns wrestlers like John Cena into a superhero and Undertaker into a necromancer.

The game allows for a Mortal Kombat style of play, with swiping and tapping combos plus finishers. You are also allowed three characters per team, and you can unlock more features as you progress. However, if you want to have that effortlessly faster, WWE Immortals has in-app purchases.

WWE IMMORTALS

I’ve downloaded the 1.4GB game into my Google Nexus 5 already and it works beautifully smooth. You can download the game here for free: iOS, Android.

Swing Copters now up for download

From the creators of Flappy Bird comes a follow up called Swing Copters. The game has been announced just recently and is now available for download, finally allowing people to feel the rage again.

We must warn you though, the game is extremely frustrating just like Flappy Bird, and it seems to us that it’s even more difficult as we’ve already downloaded it. I personally haven’t even reached a score of 1.

You can download the game here for iOS and here for Android.

Swing Copters is the new Flappy Bird, but harder!

Swing Copters is a new game from Dong Nguyen, creator of the fun/annoying game Flappy Bird that got thousands of people hooked. If you’ve been out looking for a new challenging game to pass the time, you might want to check this out.

swing copters

In Swing Copters you play as a guy with a propeller on his head, and instead of Flappy Bird’s side-scrolling gameplay you fly vertically while needing to dodge certain obstacles. Just like before, all you need to do is to tap. But the creator added a bit of a twist to make things harder – every time you tap, your character changes direction (left and right) and it’s up to you to guide him safely and make him fly as high as you can to set the highest scores.

Here’s the gameplay:

The game is rolling out on August 21 and will be free to download. Miss all the frustration that Flappy Bird gave you? Swing Copters is coming in two days.
