iPhone 6 Plus had bendgate, Note 4 now has gapgate

Lazada Philippines

Users of the recently-announced Galaxy Note 4 report that they are seeing a major defect on their device which shows a significant gap between the phablet’s body and its display – thus the term “gapgate”.

After numerous complains on the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus’ body easily bending when applied slight pressure and after other brands made fun of it, it seems like Samsung is getting the spotlight right now but not in a good way. South Korean users, where the Galaxy Note 4 was released last September 26, said that the gap in their device is thick enough to fit 2 sheets of A4 bond papers or a slightly thicker business card. It may seem like a harmless design issue, but it might affect the internals of the Note 4 in the long run since dust, lint, and even water could easily penetrate the device.

Samsung has been made aware of this issue and is already looking for a solution, although they haven’t released an official statement yet. After the ridicule that Apple got from Samsung, will they retaliate and fire some shots back at the South Korean company?

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge announced, curved flagship

Lazada Philippines

Following the announcement of the Galaxy Note 4 at Samsung’s event, the company unveils another flagship phone extremely similar to the Note 4 but with a twist – it packs Samsung’s curved display. Behold the Galaxy Note Edge.

Note Edge

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge specs:
5.6-inch WQHD Super AMOLED display, 2560×1440 @539ppi
2.7GHz quad-core processor
Adreno 420
3GB of RAM
Expandable 32GB/64GB internal storage
4G/LTE
16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash
Built-in Optical Stabilization
3.7-megapixel front camera with 120-degree angle lens
Android 4.4 Kitkat
Dimension: 151.3 x 82.4 x 8.3 mm
Weight: 174 g

And by similar, we did mean it in a lot of ways. It has the same screen resolution, the same camera, the same internals, the same Note suite and so forth. The main difference here is that the screen curves toward to the right with customization done over it to make better use of the edge – something unique to only this flagship phone.

Pricing and availability in the Philippines are yet to be announced so stay tuned!
