Fujifilm X-M1 lands locally, priced at Php40K

In what is probably the fastest local release of an international product, Fujifilm PH has brought their compact MILC APS-C camera to our country and is looking to put its direct competitor (Sony NEX5R) a good run for its money. Check out the details below.

The latest addition to the Fujifilm’s X-series lineup, the XM-1 is the more economical alternative to the Japanese firm’s current high-end offering (X-E1). As such there have been some corners that the company has to cut in order to achieve its rather competitive price tag.

But don’t get me wrong here; the only significant feature that was omitted on the X-M1 is the Electronic Viewfinder which is somewhat compensated by a larger and more pixel-packed LCD screen. Apart from that, this shiny new camera is of the same caliber as its higher-tiered sibling as far as taking pictures is concerned.

This assumption is based on the fact that the X-M1 sports the same configuration as the X-E1 and the X100S which includes an EXR II image processor and a 16.3MP X-Trans CMOS sensor sans the Optical Low-Pass Filter.

The new Fujifilm X-M1 is offered in three color variants (Black, Silver/Black and Silver/Brown) and is locally priced at Php40,000 give or take. We have to this confirm yet, but we think that that SRP is for the package that includes a Fujinon 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens which was launched alongside this MILC back in the latter part of June.
