NVidia launches TegraZone for Windows RT

Being a fairly new platform, the Windows RT isn’t exactly the best in class when it comes to apps. This is why NVidia felt the need to port their app market, complete with already available Tegra-optimized game titles, to the young ARM-based OS.

TegraZone

Though the selection is still not as vast as those found in other seasoned platforms, NVidia assures that this shortage in quantity, for now, will be properly compensated by high quality games which are specifically designed to maximize the awesome prowess of the quad-core processor.

NVidia was able to come up with these console-quality game titles by providing world class developer support to the brilliant minds behind the apps which can be traced back to their GeForce team. Now that they have the quality aspect squared away, they’re looking to apply the same principle to encourage other developers to port their titles to TegraZone.

In addition to games, the TegraZone also provides gaming news and reviews to satisfy every inch of your gaming needs. The app market can be downloaded at no cost at Microsoft Store and will only take a measly 1.30MB of your tablet’s disk space.

Halfbrick Studios apps for iOS goes on sale

In line with the holiday season, the incredible team behind some of the most celebrated apps such as Fruit Ninja is now offering all the apps they’ve ever created for the iOS platform at no charge for the next 24 hours starting today.

Along with the fruit slashing app and its Puss N Boots version, Halfbrick Studios are also giving away their other popular game titles which includes Blast Off!, Age of Zombies, Age of Zombies Anniversary, Jetpack Joyride and Monster Dash.

The team is also offering the HD version of these games (except Blast Off!) at no cost for the consumption and enjoyment of iPad users.

Apps made for the iOS platform have always been criticized for being costlier in comparison to its Android version. And while iDevice users can’t do anything but to live with that fact (unless they resort to a not-so-legal way of acquiring their apps), sales like this are always a welcome treat for a change. Just to reiterate, the sale only runs for the whole day, so don’t miss this rare chance and head on over to this link to grab your copy of Halfbrick Studio’s games free of charge.

Have you tried the new BBM 7?

After less than a month of Beta testing, RIM has recently released the latest version of their popular communication app, the BlackBerry Messenger 7.

Although much of the sought after feature of BBM is still pretty much intact in this new version, the BBM 7 offers an array of minor enhancements geared towards a simpler and better way of communicating with your BBM contacts.

In cased you’ve missed, we actually posted an article last month about some of the features of the BBM 7, including its key feature which is the BBM Voice. Through BBM Voice, BlackBerry users can make/take calls to/from other BBM 7 users over Wi-Fi connection.

One would argue that the principle behind BBM Voice is already an old trick in the book and that there are other apps in the market which offers similar functionality and more (calls over 3G/4G network). However, the reason why RIM released such feature is not to compete with other apps, rather to give BBM users a whole new way for them to communicate with each other through free VOIP.

In addition, the company is planning to improve BBM in the future by including features such as voice calls over 3G/4G connection and even video calling. There’s no set date when they plan to release these said functionalities but it’s something that BlackBerry users can all look forward to.

So have you tried calling your BBM friends via BBM Voice? If so, how was the experience?
