Samsung Galaxy Note 5 details appear

It seems like a handful of information about upcoming smartphones are scattered all over the Internet today as another report surfaces about Samsung‘s next phablet — the Galaxy Note 5.

Samsung-GalaxyNote4

The fifth iteration of the premium phablet might fly solo during its launch as the company may not opt to go for a tandem release like what it did with the Note 4 and Note Edge last year. Instead, the company might release a successor to the Note Edge at a later date with specs like 5.4 or 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display, Snapdragon 808 CPU, 16GB storage, 16MP camera with OIS, 8MP front cam, and an S-Pen stylus.

As for the Note 5 that should launch this September, it’s been reported that it might have a 2K and 4K Super AMOLED displays. Just like before, internals should be top-notch and we could be seeing an Exynos 7422 processor which is touted as Samsung’s first ever all-in-one chip with processor, GPU, RAM, storage, and modem all packed in one single chip. That, or an Exynos 7430 chip may be seen when the device makes official arrival.

LG PH teases local availability of mid-range Magna

LG Philippines over its Facebook page gives a quick teaser of the arrival of one of the four mid-range phones announced back in February. The LG Magna promises a not-so-steep price tag while having decent specs and performance.

LG Magna specs:
5.0-inch HD display @ 1280 x 720 resolution, 294ppi
1.3GHz Quad-Core CPU (3G)
1.2GHz Quad-Core CPU (LTE)
1GB RAM
8GB internal storage
8MP rear camera
5MP front camera
LTE Cat. 4
HSPA+ 21Mbps
2,540mAh removable battery
Android 5.0 Lollipop
139.7 x 69.9 x 10.2mm

A photo of the LG Magna was uploaded with the caption, “Curved phones are finally here in the Philippines!”. For those unfamiliar, it boasts a curved back for better handling and a wide-angle front camera to accommodate more people during a group selfie.

The handset is also loaded with features like Glance View, Gesture Shot, and Touch & Shoot, but as we’ve mentioned earlier its most attractive characteristic is a midrange price that should justify the kind of performance its users will be getting.

Interested in this upcoming handset? If the units are already here in the Philippines then it’s only a matter of time until they make it available. Stay tuned as we’ll be keeping tabs on its local announcement.
