Top 5 Most Expensive Smartphones in PH

During the local launch of the BlackBerry PRIV yesterday, we were a bit surprised with the introductory price that the company has announced for the Philippine market. Just like us, this probably made you wonder what the most expensive smartphones one could buy in the Philippines are, so we came up with this list showing just that.

The devices shown here have SRPs of at least Php40K and are arranged in ascending order according to their asking prices.

5. Sony Xperia Z5 Premium

Starting from the most affordable of the bunch, we have the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium that touts a 5.5-inch IPS LCD screen with 4K UHD resolution (3840 x 2160) that equates to a jaw-dropping 806ppi. It also boasts a mirror-like body that presents itself as nothing short of premium.

Inside, you have a Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM, and 32GB of expandable storage. The Xperia Z5 Premium is locally priced at Php40,990 and you may check out our first impressions during its offical launch in the Philippines.

4. Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+

Next up is from Samsung and it is none other than the Galaxy S6 Edge+ that we reviewed a few months back. The device sports a beautiful 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display at QHD resolution and is reinforced with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4 for the front and back panels.

Powering the handset is the company’s Exynos 64-bit CPU with 8 cores and a Mali T-760 running the graphics department. It’s partnered with 4GB OF LPDDR4 RAM, a 16-megapixel rear camera with OIS, and even supports Qi wireless charging. The 64GB variant is available locally for Php44,990.

3. BlackBerry PRIV

A newcomer in the local smartphone scene, BlackBerry’s PRIV is all about securing your personal data to the fullest extent. It is also the company’s first smartphone to run on Android’s OS with a sliding QWERTY keyboard so it got its fair share of attention back when it was launched.

Specs-wise, it has 5.4 inches of QHD AMOLED display that curves outward on both sides, a Snapdragon 808 hexa-core chipset, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage that’s capable of supporting up to 2TB. It was launched yesterday with an SRP of Php45,000. Interested? We have the first impressions that you can check out.

2. Apple iPhone 6S (128GB)

Topping our list is the bigger sibling of the iPhone 6S. Apart from the bigger 5.5-inch display, the 6S Plus has all the bells and whistles of its smaller version and you can have the biggest storage available (128GB) for Php55,990 SRP.

That rounds up our list of the 5 most expensive phones available in the Philippine market. Got a big, fat bonus this year and want to splurge on a new smartphone? Here you go.
