Epson was yet again named the number one Point-of-Sale (POS) printer manufacturer in Southeast Asia by International Data Corporation for five consecutive years in a row, showing the company’s commitment to customer satisfaction.

Results from 2013 showed that the company held 45% market share in the entire Southeast Asia POS printer market. Simply put, almost every other POS printer purchased in 2013 was from Epson.

In addition, Epson maintains its lead from other printer manufacturers in all markets where the Japanese company has presence. In Singapore, they hold 61% of total market share, while Epson in Indonesia holds 54% of the market for POS printers. Both here in Philippines and Malaysia, they hold a 1-in-3 share with 37% and 33%, respectively. Lastly, Epson Thailand holds 45% of the POS printer market.

“POS systems are the backbone of many businesses from F&B to retail and can have a very big impact on things like productivity, efficiency and overheads, which is why we put so much effort into creating the best, most user-intuitive systems we can, and the results show in this great honor we have received,” says Koichi Endo, Managing Director of Epson Southeast Asia. “Being the number one POS printer for the past five years, however, does not mean we can rest on our laurels. We have a responsibility to our customers to live up to, and exceed their expectations. It is this dedication to innovation that has led to Epson being named Southeast Asia’s number one POS printers, and it continues to be a great honor.”

Epson expands their commercial printer portfolio

Epson Philippines has recently announced 8 new additions to their commercial and industrial printer offerings. This includes three models of S-Series signage printers, three variants of T-Series CAD printers and SL-D3000 Photo Lab printers which comes in Single and Dual Roll models.

The new S-Series signage printers are set to replace the highly-regarded Stylus Pro GS600 as the king of the hill, offering printing advancements such as Individual Heating System, Accurate Media Loading System and Adobe Illustrator plug-in software.

However, the key improvement that these new S-Series printers bring is the company’s proprietary print head technology called Epson Micro Piezo and its versatile and eco-friendly UltraChrome GS2/GSX ink sets. These features allow the S-Series triumvirate to produce outstanding printouts at a faster and more efficient manner compared to its predecessor.

Next in line are the new T-Series printers which come in 24, 36 and 44-inch models. Epson also equipped the T-Series printers with the same Micro Piezo technology but tweaked it a little and optimized it for Technical/CAD printing. Accompanying the award-winning print technology is the Epson UltraChrome XD ink set which is also specifically developed for intricate printing.

Along with the new S and T-Series printers, Epson also unveiled the SureLab D3000. Apart from the absence of a Front roll (and all the benefits of having one), the Single Roll model is pretty much at par with the Dual Roll variant in terms of printing performance as both are imbued with the same Micro Piezo print head and uses the new Epson UltraChrome D6 ink set.

All of these new Epson printers are already available in the market. Specs and pricing can be found here.
