Blizzard has announced its expansion pack for Diablo 3 called “Reaper of Souls“, which features a new character class, higher level cap, and a “darker” game this time around.
The Reaper of Souls takes place in Westmarch and revolves around Malthael, an angel of death, who has seized control of the black soulstone which contains the soul of Diablo. The expansion will include new monsters, including fallen angels, and the new Crusader class – a holy knight that packs skills like shield bash and Falling Sword technique.
Blizzard will also implement a new loot system called Loot 2.0 which will basically reduce the amount of loots in the game. However, it will also include “smart drop” which makes it more likely for your character to pick up items tailored to its class.
Along with the new system is a new artisan, the Mystic, who can re-roll affixed stats on items which allows players to create better items.
In addition, there will be some changes in the Paragon system, and a new headlining endgame option called “Loot Runs” where players can dish it out against hordes of monsters in return for a ton of loots.
The release date of Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls is yet to be announced. In the meantime, you can check out the gameplay teaser below:
