Cherry Mobile’s partnership with Lazada resulted into a new mobile brand exclusively sold online. The device, called Cubix Cube, is a sub-Php4.5k smartphone with impressive hardware in this price category.
The Cubix Cube’s claim to fame is its octa-core processor and 2GB of RAM with a price tag of only Php4,490. That’s a combination previously unheard of consider other similar hardware combo priced around Php6k to Php7k.

The Cube is available in two colors – black and white with gold trimmings — and between the two, we think the white and gold combo looks much better. The unit has a 5-inch IPS display but we noticed it is a little bit washed out. The handset looks decent and has the slim profile so it feels good on the hands.
The processor is under-clocked to just 1.36GHz, perhaps to optimize and extend battery life. Nevertheless, the unit is still snappy and performs well within expectations.
