Lexar has recently stripped SanDisk off the “World’s Fastest Card” title when they unveiled the 256GB Professional 3333x CFast 2.0 CompactFlash card.
The company’s new CFast 2.0 card tops the charts with its insane 500MB/s transfer rate which is significantly better than the SanDisk 120GB Extreme Pro CFast 2.0 CompactFlash card that held the title for a short period of time.
Sadly, just like SanDisk’s CFast 2.0 card, the new Lexar’s new VPG-65 certified CF card is also not backwards-compatible with previous CompactFlash slots. So unless you wield an Arri Amira, we really can’t take advantage of the Professional 3333X’s blazing fast transfer speed.
Lexar didn’t say how much their new CF card is going to cost, but they stated that it’ll be available this quarter and it will be offered in various capacities ranging from 32GB up to 256GB.
