Lazada Philippines

Back in September, Dell launched Venue 8 7000 Series Tablet which is currently considered as the slimmest Android tablet to ever walked the earth. But during the announcement, the company held off on some vital information about the razor-thin tablet, such as its price, which they openly shared today.

Dell Venue 8 7000 Philippines

As we reported previously, the Dell Venue 8 7000 is equipped with a near bezel-less 8.4-inch display with WQXGA (2560×1600) resolution which goes along quite well with the tablet’s 6mm thin Anodized Aluminum frame.

The Dell Venue 8 7000 also happens to be one of the first few devices that runs on the new Intel Cherry Trail processor (Intel Atom Z3580) which enables cool features like the Intel RealSense technology for better pictures using the tablet’s camera.

Dell Venue 8 7840 specs:

2.3GHz Intel Atom Z3580 64-bit quad-core processor

ASUS ROG Swift PG27AQ, 4K IPS Monitor w/ G-Sync

Lazada Philippines

When we reviewed the RoG Swift PG278Q, we regarded it as the best gaming monitor that money can buy. Of course, that is before ASUS decided to up the ante and unveil ROG Swift PG27AQ in this year’s Consumer Electronic Show.

The PG278Q has pretty much laid the foundation for the PG27AQ, so ASUS didn’t actually have to do a lot as far as improving an already pretty decent gaming monitor – apart from maybe addressing some of the missteps on the previous model.

One of those missteps is viewing angle, which ASUS addressed that by equipping the PG27AQ with an IPS panel instead of Twisted Nematic display found on the PG278Q. However, in doing so, it resulted in to a significant drop in the maximum refresh rate from 144Hz to 60Hz. Do note though that the refresh rate drop is not something that ASUS has done, rather a limitation of IPS panels.

While it may lag behind the PG278Q in terms of refresh rate (which honestly is still in the acceptable range), the PG27AQ compensates for it by offering Ultra-HD (3840 x 2160) resolution which is slowly becoming a standard in the PC gaming scene.

ASUS ROG Swift PG27AQ specs:
Screen Size: 27-inch
Aspect Ratio: 16:9
Resolution: UHD, 3840×2160
Brightness: 300 cd/m2
Display Colors: 16.7 million
Contrast Ratio: 1000:1
Viewing Angle: 160-170°
Stand adjustments:
Tilt: -5° ~ 20°
Swivel: ±60°
Pivot: 90° clockwise
Height: 0-120mm
Speakers: N/A
Ports: 1x DisplayPort 1.2a
2x USB3.0 (1x Upstream, 2x Downstream)
VESA Wall mount
5-way Menu Controller, Refresh Rate adjuster
ASUS GamePlus Technology
NVidia G-SYNC, 3D-Vision support

Details about its price and availability were not mentioned at the time of writing.

Intel Atom (Cherry Trail) Revealed, Supports LTE-A

Lazada Philippines

In line with the announcement of the new Broadwell-U line up, Intel also took the wraps off the new Intel Atom codenamed Cherry Trail.

Intel Cherry Trail

Unfortunately, unlike with the new Broadwell-U family, there were not a lot of details about Cherry Trail that were mentioned during the announcement.

The chipmaker did, however, state that the Bay Trail’s successor will play nicely with their XMM726x wireless module which means that upcoming Intel-powered smartphones/tablets will support LTE-Advance connectivity out of the box, like the newly-announced Lenovo P90.

Lenovo-P90

On top of that, Intel also mentioned that their new system-on-chip will be imbued with new technologies such as Intel Context Aware, RealSense and Integrated Sensor Solution.

Intel is anticipating that Cherry Trail-powered devices will start to hit the shelves on the first half of 2015.

ZTE SPro 2: Projector & Smartphone Rolled Into One

Lazada Philippines

CES 2015 is in full swing, and already we’re seeing a few innovative devices being launched, including the new ZTE SPro 2 which is a pico projector with a 5-inch HD display, a Snapdragon 800 processor, and runs on a skinned version of Android KitKat right off the bat. Oh and did we mention that it can also serve as an LTE Mobile Hotspot?

ZTE SPro 2

Like any Android-powered device, users have access to most, if not all of the features that Google’s OS has to offer, as well as access to wide gamut of apps in Google Play Store to either personalize or add more functionalities to this already feature-packed pico projector.

Smartphone features aside though, the ZTE SPro 2 should be a good output device, because after all, it’s primarily a projector. It’s capable of spitting out HD videos/images on any surface with up to 120-inch in size and a brightness of 200 lumens.

ZTE SPro2

The device has an HDMI port, a USB 3.0 port that supports up to 2TB of storage, a SIM card slot for data connectivity, and a Micro-SD card slot for extra storage. The device can run while plugged in to the wall outlet through the DC jack or powered by its 6300mAh battery pack.

ZTE remains mum about the SRP of the SPro 2, but it is expected to hit the US later this year.
