ZTE’s Blade V2 touts Snapdragon CPU, 5MP selfie cam

ZTE has come up with a 64-bit midrange phone named as Blade V2 that has an updated Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and a front camera that should be more than capable of taking selfie shots.

ZTE Blade V2 specs:
5-inch HD display @ 1280 x 720 resolution
1.2GHz 64-bit Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor
1GB RAM
8GB storage (expandable via microSD)
13MP rear camera with LED flash
5MP front camera with gesture controls
Bluetooth 4.0
LTE
2400mAh battery
Android KitKat

Pricing is still under wraps and the same goes as to when it will be available, but we can expect it to be launched internationally based on its promotional video above. How much do you think it should be priced here in the Philippines?

The stock Android Email app sees some changes, too.

As you’ve noticed, the upcoming Android L works closely with more colored panels rather than the existing OS. Indeed it is more eye-catching and inviting for the user while having a simpler and cleaner layout. Icons are also smaller and are stacked up neatly. They are also flatter and resemble tile-like shapes seen on Windows 8.

How do you like the layout so far compared to Android KitKat? Are you ready to jump in when this update officially launches or would you rather prefer KitKat’s mostly monochromatic design?

Android 4.4 update for Galaxy S3 and Note 2 arrives May

A lot of devices have already received their dose of Android 4.4 KitKat updates, but for the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Note 2, owners are still riding the Jelly Bean wagon. Fortunately,  this may no longer be the case as updates might start rolling out real soon.

The report came from a customer in South Korea who talked to a Samsung representative. According to the representative, the new Android version will be arriving for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 in mid-April while users of Galaxy S3 will be getting their fix from late April to early May of 2014.

This hasn’t been the first mention of both devices getting updated. There were previous reports that surfaced showing a screenshot of an alleged Samsung document with release dates including the Galaxy Grand 2, supporting the April-May timeframe.

Keep in mind that the information from the Samsung representative speaks from South Korea. Although once the update arrives in one country, it’s only a matter of time for it to reach the others.
