Over 3,367 runners composed of 477 Chevron employees and 2,890 delegates from American Chamber of Commerce member-companies raced around Bonifacio Global City (BGC) during the 4th AmCham ScholaRUN to raise funds for select 100 underprivileged but deserving Filipino students.
The charity run generated more than 1 million pesos that will go to AmCham Foundation’s scholarship program to support scholars in both vocational and college levels. The number of participants grew by 1,000 this year, a sign of growing support for the annual event. Since the yearly activity started, the American Chamber Foundation Philippines Inc. (ACF) in partnership with Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI), marketer of the Caltex fuel and lubricants, has given education opportunities for hundreds of ACF scholars. ACF has supported numerous graduates who are currently working in various companies, locally and globally.
Finishers of the 3k, 5k and 10k categories all received commemorative medals for their participation aside from getting a fun workout with colleagues and friends.
Finishing 3rd in the 5k category, Janice Trinidad, Expatriate Assignee Counselor of Chevron Holdings Inc. (CHI), proudly said, “It feels great to run for a good cause. I fully support this annual activity because I know it’s a privilege to help provide education for our country’s next generation of leaders.”
