Amazon’s smartphone with four cameras for 3D holograms

It has been long-rumored that Amazon will be coming out with a new smartphone and one of its main features is the four front-facing cameras that produces hologram-like images without the use of 3D glasses.

According to sources, Amazon’s upcoming phone “would employ retina-tracking technology embedded in four front-facing cameras, or sensors, to make some images appear to be 3D, similar to a hologram.” In addition, this technology was also reported to sense movement when the screen is moving closer to a user’s face. Doing so makes the phone zoom into images automatically and manipulation of both text and messages depending on the positioning of the device is possible.

Based on the reports, it seems like Amazon’s upcoming smartphone wouldn’t cost that much since the company aims to profit from customers acquiring services from Amazon using their devices, and not make money out of the devices itself. This is backed up by another feature of the phone that can recognize photos you take with its camera. After that, the phone looks for a matching product on Amazon so you can begin ordering it.

As of now, little is known regarding its official name and even what OS it will be running. The phone is set to go on mass production starting June and should come out sometime in late September — just in time for Christmas shopping and yes, same time as iPhone 6‘s arrival.
