6 gadgets you might need inside your car

We spend more and more time inside the car as traffic congestion in Metro Manila is an unavoidable reality. All we can do is make the daily trip more comfortable and productive.

So we came up with a list of gadgets and devices you can bring and use in the car while travelling. This is just a suggestion and some of them might be already being used in your car for some time now (if you have other ideas or are using some other devices, do chime in the comments section).

USB Car Charger

USB Car chargers are pretty common and standard these days and while newer car models already have them as a standard feature, there’s still a huge demand for 3rd-party USB adaptors.

This Belkin Road Rockstar comes with 4 USB ports — 2 front seat USB ports has a shared 2.4A power that can charge two smartphones at the same time. The extendable hub allows backseat passengers to charge 2 tablets simultaneously at 2.4A per port. That’s a total of 4.8A from one single car adaptor.

The extended hub has a clip that fits right into the back pocket of the car seat. With a total of 4 USB chargers, we don’t think the entire family or friends will have a hard time charging their devices while on the road.

The Belkin car charger retails for Php2,490 and is available in Lazada (see listing here).

Hence, we can expect that the accessories that are out now will also be compatible with the upcoming iPhones.

LG made a full-sized mobile keyboard you can put in your pocket

This is one pretty interesting new product idea from LG — a full-sized mobile keyboard that you can fold and put in your pocket. At least, that’s what they are claiming.

LG is claiming that this is the world’s first solid rollable wireless portable keyboard. There are many other rollable keyboards around but they are mostly made of soft rubber pads.

The folding keyboard comes with Bluetooth 3.0 and auto-connects up to 2 wireless devices as you fold it out. A single AAA battery powers the keyboard for up to three months of average use.

No pricing or release date has been indicated.

Samsung Fast Charging Powerbank for Note 5/S6 Edge+

Since the new Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus have fast charging capabilities, Samsung also announced a companion powerbank for the two flagship devices.

They are slim, portable and shaped like the Galaxy Note5/S6 Edge+ with almost similar shade of color to match the handsets.

Since they are made specifically for the Galaxy Note5 and S6 Edge+, expect the powerbanks to be able to fully charge the handsets in just 90 minutes.

Each powerbank has a capacity of 8,000mAh and only has one USB port. There are 4 LED indicators to show charge level at 25% increments. That should give around 2 to 2.5 of the charge cycle of the Note 5/S6 Edge+.

We’re not sure if Samsung is going to bring it here in the Philippines or perhaps probably even bundle in the kit for those who made the pre-orders.
