After introducing 360-degree videos, Facebook now gives its users 360-degree and panoramic images and let them enjoy it in an immersive preview.
Any panorama stills from camera launchers or a 360-degree photo from 360 cameras available in the market will be supported by Facebook. Uploading is the same as with normal image but once posted, there will be a compass icon to identify 360 photos. You can drag or use your phone’s gyroscope to pan around the image. Better yet, if you have a Samsung Gear VR headset, you can view it in VR mode.
360 photos are available on Facebook via the web and the latest mobile app version of iOS and Android. You can check some good samples here. However, we’ll have to wait for a few days before users can upload their own content. We’ll keep you posted.
