I tag myself now as a proud SAHM to my 2 year old daughter. I worked abroad for 8 long consecutive years. 2 out of 8 years was full of downside MOMents.
I almost got fired when I didn't report to work for days because my daughter was sick. I had to juggle my time between my being a mom and a wife to the two most precious persons in my life plus the responsibilities I had at work. It was tough. Until, my husband got an offer to work somewhere else. He wanted us to stay, coz he'll be traveling back and forth to where we were anyway. The fact that I'll be leaving my daughter in some stranger's arms if we stay made me decide. I gave up my 8 year old good paying job. I won't be working abroad forever anyway, I know that for sure. Besides, it's a very practical and wise decision. What's the use of having an extra pay when that amount would also go to babysitting expenses. I'd rather spend those working hours with my daughter. That would also test our long distance relationship.
I'm happy now, very much. I have some personal money anyway from blogging so it's okay. I survive.
