Enjoy Philippines, a VIP privilege program has just launched their mobile app called Enjoy VIP PH that lets you enjoy discounts and privileges by simply flashing your smartphone at participating establishments.

To give you a brief background, Enjoy is a loyalty and privilege card that offers discounts, gifts and VIP perks. Enjoy VIP PH on the other hand is the mobile app version of that card. Users then can avail their voucher (one-time only discount) and card (on-going discount) privileges by clicking through the app and presenting it to the partner merchant’s front-line staff.

The Enjoy VIP PH mobile app can be downloaded from Samsung Apps on Samsung devices. Users just need to register to start enjoying the perks. For bigger discounts and bargains users can upgrade their membership status to VIP for Php995 a year.

Currently, buyers of specially marked Samsung Galaxy devices are given a complimentary 12-month limited membership. The free card membership is offered to the following devices:

Android 4.2.1 update rolls out for Nexus 4, 7 and 10

A few weeks ago, the Android 4.2 Jellybean update was released for the latest Google Nexus devices. It was expected to add some improvements however, that update has caused an issue with the device’s Contacts app. To squash that bug, Google has rolled out the Android 4.2.1 update.

The update aims to fix the so called “December Birthday” bug that prevents a user to select the month of December for a contact’s birthday or anniversary. In addition, it also fixes Bluetooth issues that some users were experiencing. If this is the case, non-Nexus devices might just skip 4.2 and dive into 4.2.1 right away if ever an update should be released.

The Android 4.2.1 update is available via OTA. Try to check for updates manually on your Nexus if you didn’t get any notifications.

LG launches 84″ Ultra-HD 3D Smart TV

LG Home Entertainment has recently launched in Anson’s Makati its 84″ Ultra-HD 3D Smart TV which is capable of displaying content at four times the level of detail of a full 1080p HD resolution.

The UHD 3D TV has an IPS display with a screen resolution of 3840 x 2160 or 8 million pixels – that, according to LG, guarantees lifelike, dramatic, and pin sharp images. Now, watching non-UHD content on a TV this big could be an issue so LG uses a technology called the “LG Resolution Upscaler Plus” that allows SD and HD content to be displayed with higher detail. In 3D mode (3D glasses required), the TV uses a 3D Depth Control so users can adjust the distance between near and far objects. IPS also works on 3D so you still get a wide viewing experience. Don’t have 3D content? Not a problem. The UHD TV has a 2D to 3D conversion engine so you can view 2D content in 3D.

For audio, it uses a 3D Sound Zooming feature that analyzes the on-screen objects to generate sound according to location and movement. Partner that with the 2.2 Speaker System consisting of two 10W speakers and two 15W woofers so expect amazing sound coming from this TV. If you’re a gamer you’ll surely appreciate the feature called Dual Play that lets two players to simultaneously see different images on the same screen. From here you can say goodbye to split-screen gaming.

The LG 84-inch Ultra-HD 3D Smart TV has a price tag of Php849,990 and is now available in select appliance stores nationwide.

Will.i.am to launch 14 megapixel iPhone kit

Music artists usually dive into launching headphones and clothing lines to complement their profession and celebrity status, but BEP’s Will.i.am takes it one step further by launching a kit that turns your iPhone into a 14 megapixel camera called the i.am+.

This iPhone camera accessory is not just a standard clip-on like the ones you see from olloclip. Instead, the i.am+ camera has a dedicated 14 megapixel camera with its own image sensor, optics, flash, and dedicated shutter button. It will be compatible with the iPhone 4, 4S and 5.”We have our own sensor and a better flash. You dock your phone into our device and it turns you smartphone into a genius-phone. We take over the camera.” – says Will.i.am.

So far details on specs and pricing have not been revealed but the i.am+ is set to be launched in London on November 28.
