We are expecting a new mid-range smartphone from Meizu but before that, they silently release a tone-downed version of their flagship.
The Meizu MX5E, which probably got its name from the iPhone SE, is a cheaper variant of the MX5 with all the cuts done to it. Two major changes are present here: a slower processor and downgraded camera. The chipset is now at 2.0GHz from 2.2GHz while the camera now has 16-megapixels rather than 20.7MP.
Meizu MX5E key specifications:
5.5-inch Full HD display, 1920 x 1080 pixels
2.0GHz MediaTek MTK6795 octa-core processor
3GB RAM
16GB internal storage
16-megapixel autofocus rear camera
5-megapixel front camera
Dual-SIM
LTE
Fingerprint scanner
3150mAh battery
Android 5.0 w/ Flyme OS 4.5
Of course, its price tag is also dragged to just 1399 Yuan or less than Php 10k. Its availability is limited to China for now, and international availability is yet unclear.
