Jawbone has announced today two new fitness wearables – the UP4 and UP2.
The UP4 is a different kind of fitness wearable as it sports a built-in Amex Payments Technology. Jawbone partnered with Amercian Express and embedded the UP4 with an NFC chip giving U.S. American Express Card Members the ability to tap to pay using the new wearable.
As a fitness tracker, it has the same slim design and multi-sensor platform as the UP3. It features sleep and activity tracking, heart health monitoring, and works with Jawbone’s UP app and Smart Coach system.
Next is the UP2, the successor to the UP24. It boasts a new design that’s 45% smaller than its predecessor, Medical-grade hypoallergenic TPU rubber strap, Anodized aluminum casing, TiN coated stainless steel clasp, and splash-proof body.
Other features include activity tracking, sleep tracking, food logging, up to 7 days battery life, Bluetooth 4.0 BLE, three single color LED notifications, and like the UP4, it’s compatible with the UP app and Smart Coach system.
The UP2 comes in Black Diamond and Light Grey Hex with a price tag of $99.99. It will be available in the U.S. starting April 19, 2015. The UP4, on the other hand, comes in Black Twist and Silver Cross and costs $199.
