There has been a lot of talk about the possibility that Google may release two Nexus devices later this year – one being a high-end handset which is rumored to be made by LG and the other one, as confirmed by Kevin Yang, the Director of China Research at iSuppli, will be made by Huawei.
The confirmation came from Yang’s Weibo post claiming that the Shenzhen-based firm has indeed been handpicked by Google to manufacture the next-gen Nexus device, albeit he didn’t share any other details about the partnership or the actual device that the two companies are supposedly working on.
For most of us, Kevin Yang’s post may just come off as nothing but a bold claim with no tangible information to back it up. However, it’s good to note that the Yang works for one of the more respectable mobile research firm around, so credibility-wise, this guy probably knows what he’s talking about.
Obviously, neither Huawei nor Google commented on these speculations as of the time of writing, but it’ll be interesting to see how this will all pan out in the end.
