Rumors about Lenovo’s plan to acquire Blackberry have been going on since last year. Once again, that topic has been brought up as Benzinga received a tip from an informant who claims that the Chinese multi-national company is willing to take a shot at the Canadian phone-maker by offering to buy shares for $15 within the week.
This recent speculation comes 10 months after Lenovo announced that it’s acquiring Motorola Mobility from Google which, up until now, still has not been formally closed.
If the Blackberry deal materializes, it will be the latest addition to Lenovo’s expanding businesses which include the recent acquisition of IBM’s x86 Server Business which closed earlier this month.
As expected, spokespersons from both companies aren’t exactly willing to give out any information about the matter. That being said, nothing is certain as of the time of writing.
