Users of the recently-announced Galaxy Note 4 report that they are seeing a major defect on their device which shows a significant gap between the phablet’s body and its display – thus the term “gapgate”.
After numerous complains on the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus’ body easily bending when applied slight pressure and after other brands made fun of it, it seems like Samsung is getting the spotlight right now but not in a good way. South Korean users, where the Galaxy Note 4 was released last September 26, said that the gap in their device is thick enough to fit 2 sheets of A4 bond papers or a slightly thicker business card. It may seem like a harmless design issue, but it might affect the internals of the Note 4 in the long run since dust, lint, and even water could easily penetrate the device.
Samsung has been made aware of this issue and is already looking for a solution, although they haven’t released an official statement yet. After the ridicule that Apple got from Samsung, will they retaliate and fire some shots back at the South Korean company?
