Cars aren’t exactly the first thing that comes into mind when we think of the Mobile World Congress. But that didn’t deter Ford from launching the new addition to their compact car lineup, the Ford Focus 2015, in that said event.
Right from the get go, one can easily spot the changes that Ford has made on the new Focus’ exterior, particularly on the front end. In addition to its redesigned hood and front grills, the Ford Focus 2015 flaunts a new pair of headlights, complete chrome trims, and a new set of taillights.
Ford has also given their new 5-seater an interior overhaul. Some of the more notable changes that the company did include a revamped steering wheel and dashboard, as well as the addition of a 4.6-inch (8-inch in some models) LCD panel which is hooked up to a rear facing camera at the back of the car.
With the exception of the new suspension, the carmaker didn’t make any significant change on inner workings of the Focus 2015. Ford decided to keep their standard 2.0-liter, four-cylinder offerings which consist of 6-speed dual-clutch AT and 5-speed MT variants.
They did, however, introduce a new 1.0-liter model with a Three-Cylinder Turbocharged EcoBoost Engine. Ford didn’t disclose any information about this new variant, but we think it’s safe to assume that it’ll deliver the same performance as the Ford Fiesta which boasts the same engine configuration.
Details about the pricing of the new Ford Focus 2015 were not announced during the announcement, but it is expected to arrive in the latter part of this year.
