Huwaei has launched the successor to their popular 6.1-inch smartphone of last year, now with beefier specs and LTE connectivity, the Ascend Mate2 4G.
The Huawei Ascend Mate 2 4G retains its predecessor’s 6.1-inch IPS EHD (1280 x 720) display with 241ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass. However, the insides are much different and has dropped the K3V2 chipset in favor of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 quad-core 1.6GHz SoC.
Huawei increased the RAM to 2GB, internal storage to 16GB, rear camera to 13 megapixel BSI with f/2.0 aperture, front camera to 5 megapixel, microSD card support up to 64GB, upgraded it to Android 4.3 Jellybean with Emotion UI 2.0, and added Cat4 LTE connectivity to the mix. Battery remains the same though at 4,050mAh but now sports a slightly thinner body at 9.5mm.
In addition, Huawei is also offering a Bluetooth earphone, stylish flip cover and colorful external battery packs available for purchase. Pricing and availability of the Ascend Mate 2 is yet to be announced.
