The new and toned-down version of the popular Nintendo Wii gaming console will soon be available in the United States with a very low price tag.
The Wii Mini, which is already available in Canada and Europe for months now, is making its way to the US for only $99.99 (around Php4321). The affordable bundle already includes a Wii Remote Plus controller, a Nunchuck and a copy of Mario Kart Wii to get you started. The gaming console is 1.9 x 6.3 x 7.5 inches and weighs just 0.7 kg.
Being a “mini” version of the original Wii, it is smaller, cheaper and has some few losses like WiFi and GameCube support. This means online features are nowhere to be found. The good news is that it still supports accessories and the 1,300 game titles for Wii.
The real successor to the Wii, the Wii U, is generally not doing well so Nintendo is hoping that the Wii Mini will get the hype. Also, new game titles like Super Mario 3D World and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze will be launching this year. Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. will arrive in 2014.
The Nintendo Wii Mini will be available for purchase in the US starting November 17th.
