DATA A DAY: Too much pork is not good for you

EVERY YEAR, Congressmen are allowed to identify P 70 million in projects for their Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) or their pork barrel. In turn, Senators are allowed P 200 million. Apparently, despite the big uproar over pork, that money still is not enough.

The recently-released probe by the Commission on Audit (COA) on the pork barrel release and usage for the years 2007 until 2009 show that legislators were somehow able to wangle double the amounts they were authorized to spend for through their pork barrel.
