Wacom outs Windows and Android-powered Cintiq tablets

Wacom has released two new tablets aimed at creative professionals on the go, the Windows 8-powered Cintiq Companion and the Android-powered Cintiq Companion Hybrid.

The Cintiq Companion runs Windows 8 and full versions of creative software. It sports a 13.3-inch full HD display, 3rd generation Intel Core processor and Intel HD Graphics 4000.

Next is the Cintiq Companion Hybrid which also sports a 13.3-inch full HD display but this time it is powered by a Nvidia Tegra 4 quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM and runs Android 4.2 Jellybean.

The Cintiq Companion Hybrid models are priced at $1,499 (USD) for the 16GB and $1,599 (USD) for the 32GB. While the Cintiq Companion models are offered at $1,999 (USD) for the Windows 8 with 256GB SSD and $2,499 (USD) for the Windows 8 Pro with 512GB SSD. Both tablets will be available from Wacom’s eStore starting mid-September and October, respectively.
