In action: Parrot AR Drone 2.0

So here’s a demo video of the Parrot AR Drone 2.0 as requested by some of our readers. It’s a mix clip of recording of the Drone 2.0 and also aerial shots taken by the onboard HD camera of the Drone itself.

We pushed the Drone to its limits and attempted some maneuvers — see it flip 360-degrees at 1:15, hover as high as 30-feet (although it was already too windy at that height), and fly over the fountains.

Twice we lost control of the Drone, once after it flew beyond our WiFi range and second time after the signal got cut off by that huge slab of boulder in the middle of High Street.

You will also see the secondary camera that faces downwards but the quality is very low (VGA).

We were able to manage around 10 minutes of flight time on a single full charge of the battery. In previous tests, we managed to hook up a Lumia 925 on the Drone and also have it record videos but the resulting clips were very shaky. We’ll do another round with the GoPro Hero 3 next time.
