Meanwhile in Taiwan, HTC has announced their latest entry for the Desire line of smartphones – the quad-core-powered Desire 500.
The HTC Desire 500 is a mid-range offering that sports a 4.3-inch WVGA display (217ppi), 8 megapixel AF BSI camera with LED flash, 1.6 megapixel BSI front-facing, and 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 64GB via microSD.
Running under the hood is a Snapdragon 200 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, 1,800mAh battery, and Android Jellybean with HTC sense 5 and BlinkFeed.

The HTC Desire 500 has a price tag of NT11,900 or around Php17,000. No info yet on local availability but it is slated to launch exclusively on Taiwan Mobile on August 1.
