Microsoft has recently rolled out its preview version of Skype for Outlook.com, allowing you to make Skype calls directly from the website.
For those who aren’t familiar, Outlook is Microsoft’s Metro-inspired free email service that was launched last year. If you already have an Outlook account, all you need to do is download a plugin for your favorite browser (works with Internet Explorer, Chrome and Firefox) then connect your Skype account to Outlook. From there you can start making Skype calls directly from your inbox without the need to install a client.
The Skype for Outlook.com preview is currently being rolled out in Europe and in the United States. It will be available for other countries in the following months.
