Thinking of dumping your old 35mm negatives? Before you do, you might want to check out this Kickstarter-funded gizmo called Lomography Smartphone Scanner and maybe you’ll have a change of hearts afterwards.
As its name implies, this recently announced gizmo allows users to view their pictures that they captured using a film camera on their iPhone and other supported Android smartphones. It works by using your handset’s camera to snap a photo of the negative and your phone can then turn it into positive via a downloadable app.
But not only does the device permits you to view your treasured snaps, the Lomography Smartphone Scanner also offers user some minor imaging tweaks. This includes the ability to create a multi-frame animation and/or stitch multiple images to make a Panorama.
Once you’re happy with your snaps, the app also allows you to share your scanned negatives to your friends/followers. The Lomography Smartphone Scanner currently retails for USD40, but is slated to cost a little bit higher once it reaches the market.
