Jaq (of Kiss Jane) and Kean Cipriano (of Callalily)
When I heard “Liwanag” (by Callalily) and “Lagi” by Kiss Jane, I actually couldn’t imagine how those two songs can be mashed up. “Liwanag” is more upbeat than that of “Lagi”. In addition, the sound of the guitars in “Lagi” makes use of the instrument’s natural sound without adding heavy effects unlike in “Liwanag”. Also, the voice of Jaq is suitable to songs that are slow but does not sound heavy.
Even though the sound of “Lagi” and “Liwanag” may be different, both songs convey the theme of love.
Anyway, I still expect the mash-up to sound heavier but the tempo of “Lagi” in the mash-up will probably still be the same. It would be interesting to see how will the mash-up work if Kean sings lines from “Lagi” and Jaq sings some lines from “Liwanag”.
