Last weekend, I was invited to the launch of the newest flick to hit the town: the Ice Worlds . The movie wasn’t shown in movie theaters but in uber cool planetarium inside the SM Science Discovery Center at the Mall of Asia.
The documentary examines the ecosystems that live and thrive the Earth’s Arctic and Antarctic regions and how their survival is connected with human being’s own survival. Beyond Earth, Ice Worlds looks at how the existence of ice shapes the landscape and the natural systems on other planets and moons in the solar system.
Narrated by British actress Emily Watson, star of The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep, Ice Worlds is produced in cooperation with the University of New Hampshire, the Houston Museum of Natural Science, with the support of the National Science Foundation.
The show is really great! Kids would definitely love the show. The graphics is really stunning. We were watching the movie in an almost-lying position and the movie showing on the dome ceiling. A one of its kind experience!
The Ice Worlds is now showing daily at the Planetarium of the SM Science Discovery Center in SM Mall of Asia. The center is open daily from 10 AM to 10 PM. For ticket reservations, call 556-2153 or for group booking inquiries please call 556-0331.
