Sylvia Manor Hotel Bacolod: Perfect Accomodations during the Masskara Festival

Last weekend, I went back to my hometown Bacolod City to witness the 29th Masskara Festival. But for the first time, I did not stay at home. During the whole weekend from October 17-20 Sylvia Manor Hotel became the Official Residence of Byahilo.

Sylvia Manor is one of the new boutique hotels in Bacolod. What I really like about Sylvia Manor is its location. It’s just one block away from the street dance parade route, therefore I don’t have to make an extra effort to commute. I also don’t have to worry much if I stay up late in the street, the hotel is just a few meters away from the party scene. Sylvia Manor is definitely a perfect location for the Masskara Festival celebrations.

What’s also good with Sylvia Manor Hotel in Bacolod is that its staff is very warm and hospitable. They are always there ready to assist you.

We had a Superior Room during our stay. It has 1 single bed and a queen-sized bed. But what I love about the set up is that they don’t cramp the beds in a small space. There’s still an ample space near the window. Bathroom is OK too.

Food is great. Breakfast is provided free. There’s just a wide array of selections to choose from. Corn flakes, breads, streamed rice, garlic rice, omelette, sausage, bacon, hams, fresh fruits and a whole lot more.

Sylvia Manor Cafe Felice

During the last day of our stay, we opted to use the Gift Certificate they gave us worth One Thousand Pesos. We had our lunch at Café Felice, the In house restaurant of Sylvia Manor. The three of us ordered set meals pegged at 150Pesos each.

The food is OK, and is reasonably priced, to think that this is a hotel restaurant. Neli and I ordered Back Ribs with barbecue sauce and onion rings. Joanne ordered Chicken Chasseur with generous amount of cream and mushrooms. We also ordered Caesar Salad.

Our set meal includes a pitcher of ice tea (for each of us!) and dessert. Neli and I had Black Sambo and Joanne had pineapple turnover. Black Sambo is good. It is firm, not too sweet either. It could have been better if it has been chilled a little bit more.

And since we have just consumed a little under 500 pesos, we had ordered some more food for dinner just to consume the Gift Certificate.

All in all our stay at the Sylvia Manor is a pleasant one. I really don’t have any complaints at all. I love their service.

I would highly recommend Sylvia Manor Hotel for your accommodations during the Masskara Festival 2009. You can book in advance by going to their site
