Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) has announced a Safety Improvement Campaign or a recall of select cars sold in the Philippines “due to a suspected defect in the airbag inflator of the driver side airbag.”
The cars being recalled are the Accord (2003-2006), Civic (2004 & 2005), and Pilot (2006-2007), totalling to a number of 1,514 affected units. According to Honda, there are no reported accidents or injuries related to this concern in the Philippines, and that the recall is a proactive effort of HCPI to ensure customer safety. HCPI requests the owners of the affected vehicles to contact and set an appointment with any of the authorized Honda car dealerships and service centers in the country or by contacting them at at (02) 857-7240 or email at update@hondaphil.com. HCPI says that the replacement of the driver side airbag inflator will take about an hour. They also ensure that all parts and labor costs related to the recall will be free of charge.
