Google has launched a new feature that allows you to locate your Android smartphone with a simple Google search from your desktop.
Normally we’d use Google’s already exisiting Android Device Manager tool to locate our missing smartphone but the company has made the process a lot easier by letting us search for it by simply typing “find my phone” on Google.
Before trying this, make sure that your Android device has the latest Google app. Next, fire up your browser and log in with with the same Google account as your phone. Type “find my phone” in the search bar and Google will then try to locate your phone and display it on a map. If your device is nearby you can also have Google ring it for you. Android Device Manager is still required though if you want to lock or erase your device.
