Gas technology leader and smarter mobility proponent Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation joined the Safety Organisation of the Philippines Inc. (SOPI) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in recognizing The Outstanding Pilipino Firefighters (TOPF) for 2013, in an event held recently at the Midas Hotel in Pasay City.
“This is our way to acknowledge the excellent performance of these uniformed and civilian volunteers, assuring the safety of people, especially at times of emergency,” said Shell HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) Country Manager Arsenio Isidro. “Despite the risks of their work, these men and women extend their best, professionally and with integrity, which is why we are glad to partner with SOPI and BFP in recognising the efforts of our fire fighters.”
For four years now, Shell has partnered with SOPI and BFP in recognizing the efforts of fire fighters selflessly risking their lives to protect public and private properties from fire and man-made disasters. Such support is part of Shell’s fundamental orientation toward safety not only in the workplace, but in the communities it operates in, along with other social investment advocacies such as road safety, driver education, sustainable mobility, developing new energy sources, and many others.
