Yesterday, Microsoft has announced their latest Manta Ray-inspired ergonomic Keyboard as part of the new Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop bundle.
To call Microsoft’s new Sculpt Ergonomic Keyboard bizarre is actually an understatement. However, as weird as it may appear to be, Microsoft claims that it’s built with comfort and productivity in mind. Moreover, the tech firm from Redmond stated that, the keyboard’s domed build, spacious cushioned palm rest, and cleft key layout (which, by the way, looks like a smiling face at first glance), are thoughtfully designed to reduce the risk of strain or discomfort while typing.
Along with this odd-looking keyboard, Microsoft also announced a new wireless mouse which can be purchased as a standalone product for little under sixty bucks (USD59.95) or included in the Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop bundle for USD129.95 which also comes with a wireless NumPad.
Albeit not as weird as its keyboard counterpart, the Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse also has its fair share of quirks in terms of its design. We’re not gonna go too much into the specifics, but some of the wireless pointer’s more prominent features include a scroll wheel that’s pushed slightly off-center to give way for its fairly sizeable thumb rest. And there’s also a dedicated Start button, which may come handy when Windows 8.1 update finally arrives.
