We have been waiting for the international version of the HTC Droid DNA and the HTC J Butterfly for quite some time now and finally here it is – the HTC Butterfly.
Unlike the Droid DNA and the J Butterfly, this one is the international version which will probably be available in the Philippines in Q1 of 2013.
We heard rumors that the device will be named HTC Deluxe. Other than the name of the superphone, everything else turned out to be true.
The HTC Butterfly packs a 1.5 GHz quad-core S4 Pro processor with 2 GB of RAM, Beats Audio and HTC’s ImageSense technology. It also has an 8 megapixel camera in the back, and a 2.1 megapixel front camera. Both are capable of 1080p video capture.
The biggest strength of the phone is the whopping 5-inch SuperLCD 3 display with a resolution of 1080×1920. That equates to a pixel density of 440 ppi and could be one of the best displays we have to date.
While the display could be its biggest strength, it could also be its biggest weakness as it will only be utilizing a 2,020 mAh battery. In addition the Butterfly will feature a microSD card slot for memory expansion and will be running on Android 4.1 Jellybean with HTC Sense.
Nothing was announced about its pricing and availability, so we’ll keep you posted.
